ABS Module

My ABS module went out a while back and the pump kept running. I disconnected it and drove with out the ABS. I found out it was a common problem and to replace it was going to cost around $800. I tried looking at local salvage yards for one but as soon as they got one in it was gone and they went for $300 - $400.

I found an auction on Ebay to have mine repaired and went out on a limb to see if it would work. I usually don't have things repaired by someone I've never met (especialy off of Ebay). It was $100 to get it done.

The person I delt with was great. He got my unit repaired and it is working flawlesly. He went out of his way to make sure I was happy with the work and his 100% positive feedback on Ebay shows he has done the same with others. I don't personaly know him other than his fixing my ABS. Everyone here has been helpfull in the past with other problems I've had so I thought I'd post this to help anyone out that has had this problem as well.

The name of his company is Circuit Solutions and he is located in Idaho.

Thanks,

Good info and thanks for sharing it, because I know that the '99 and early '00 trucks seem to have this problem all to often.

You can still drive it after you remove the module. It sits on top of the pump and as long as you only remove the four small torx bolts that hold it on and the module itself you can drive it. The part that the module sits on is just six little towers that stick up and nothing else really. If you remove the whole pump assembly then you have to undue the brake lines that run to it in which case you can't drive it.

It only takes him a day to repair it so depending on how you want it shipped it could take as little as three days. He has a website that explains it all but I don't remember the URL right off. I'll have to find it and post it.
