Engine in my 2001 Chevy Silverado 1500 was in neutral revved up and placed into Drive , Now it has a Delay in shifting itself or bogging down like it's supposed to ( engine seems to stay revved longer and or delayed )  anybody Kno how to correct this or what it could be ? The problem?

Only stock transmission I've ever heard of that could handle a high rpm (close to redline) drop from neutral into drive on a repeated basis was the old Chrysler Corp. 727 Torqueflite. Chad, I fear that you have learned a very expensive lesson.
