Cruise control kicking out

Truck is a 2003 Suburban 4x4 fav.

So starting yesterday I was driving to work cruise set at 80. Use my indicator to change lanes and the cruise just shut off. Today going to work same thing. Only did it once and using left indicator. On the way home however it would kick the cruise off both directions. I’m guessing it may be a multifunction switch. But I did recently replace only the brake lights with LED bulbs. However the turn signal front and rear are still halogens. Bulbs were put in about a week ago too. Anyone have any similar issues?

These cruise control systems really don't like LED brake light bulbs. Did you replace your third brake light too? Due to the resistance values, if your TAC module senses a high resistance (ie, burnt out bulb in the CHMSL) then it will disable cruise. Swap your normal bulbs back in and see if that makes it work. There are some LED's or resistor packs to make the cruise play nice, but I don't have that link in front of me right now.

Probably due to LED brake lights.  But could possibly be brake light switch (under dash, on top of brake pedal) has gone bad, too--that is a common cause of cruise control failure.

I will swap out the bulbs and see next week driving into work if it is better. I just found it odd that it didn’t do it right off the bat. I have had multifunction switches go bad in a 00 s-10 but I had no blinkers with that situation. ?‍♂️
