Anybody know how to program a oem fob? Not the key

.. FedEx dropped off my programmer today..I programmed 2 extra fobs for my truck no problem.. easy plug n play!

 

..fyi the truck will only pair 2 extra fobs

.. just a heads up.. the supplied fob packaged with mine had a dead battery which I had to replace before I could program it

The button cell was dead (2.4v) in the dorman fob..I put in a new one (3.2v).. probably was old stock..I programmed that one plus an aftermarket one that I had picked up on eBay.. it really is as easy as shown on the linked video.

.. now I just needed a low buck way to add spare keys

Well they have a ways to program the key take 30mins tho

The expensive part of spare key will be getting it cut as it's not a traditional key. Looks like the programming will only take a couple seconds and no additional hardware

thanks for that video but I’m trying to program the fob not the key, but i probably should buy another key as I only have one key and one fob programmed right now

.. there is some great info on this thread.. I'll add this link here as well for the fob battery replacement.. could've used this info before I took my fob completely apart to change the battery ?
