Voltage Problem?

I have a 95 Silverado 4wd that has a voltage problem that I cannot isolate. I put a brand new battery in it. Even with the new battery the voltage meter still bounces when using turn signals and other electronic devices. Last night when using my Cb when I key the radio to transmit my lights, stereo, and dash lights go out until I unkey the radio. I dont think the CB is the problem.....teh volt meter shows low voltage when nothing is on(accessories) I have used a multimeter to check voltage out of the alernator and it shows good. Could this be the voltage regulator? I do not have long enough leads to check that at this time. Any help would be appreciated.

i saw a 95 suburban that the headlights would dim and brighten about once a second due to voltage changes. put a reman alternator on it and it was fine. You could put an alternator on and return it if it does not cure the problem

You should also check the ground strap or wire to the body.

Battery cables are notoriously bad on these. It may look fine on the outside, but could be completely rotted on the inside. It would cause all of the problems you are describing, not to mention cause a fire.

FIRE BAAAAAD.

If you know for a fact that your battery/alternator are fine....I would start with the cables that connect them.

I have had several go bad.

This might be your problem....Might not be either. Just something to check.
