Recently a co worker pointed out to me my passenger side tail light was out at night time.

I believe this is considered the running light function?

both bulbs are new and recently replaced. brake, turn, hazard functions all work fine on it but when its night time or I force the lights on the right side does not stay lite.

Has anyone had this issue in the past or know of a possible fuse location that could be linked to this?

its a 2015 silverado ltz z71 if there is any difference in the trim fuse blocks.

Use a mulitimeter on the plug, see if you have power at the socket. From there you could see if you have power further down the line at the harness plug in.

Im sorry, which plug is it your referring to? Is there a separate plug for this function as the turn, break, and hazard functions all work perfectly fine on it?

attached is my engine bay fuse box.

Check for power at the light socket itself. Swap the working bulb with the non working bulb to see if you just have a bad bulb.

I have put fresh bulbs in and tested on the driver said light and they all work fine, so we know its not a bulb issue.

I have yet to look under the truck for any corrosion.

I did tape the harness on the back of my bed and a bunch of corrosion and dirt came out of the lights sockets. here is a picture of what they look like on the passanger side.

I also was proactive and ordered one of the harnesses online.

is there a separate channel for all the power and why signals and breaks work but running and park wouldn't in this case?

after replacing the whole harness it turns out that fixed the problem.

Hi, just reading the issue you had. I have the same problem on the same truck. So you swapped the rear light harness on the one side and that fixed the problem. I also have no running light on the front too, on the same side. Did you have that also? As I feel if I swap the rear harness that may only fix the issue at the back not the front.

I have the same issue any progress? I am hoping not to have to replace the whole harness.

I have a 2008 GMC Sierra and I just happened to have the same problem and it just started 2 weeks ago now I changed up my license plate harness because that wasn't working and I changed out the circuit board at the back of the truck it's still a problem and I'll change the Lights still a problem just the running light only front to back What's going on. I have new harness  coming today for left and right back taillights harnesses change them out and see if that works if not it's somewhere in the middle one wire for the taillights
