2012 Non-Bose radio woes...

Recommended Posts

So my 2012 has 157,000 miles. About 8 months ago, got in it to head to work one morning and no music out of the radio. I tried different stations, ota and XM, CD, no sound. Nothing. A little perplexed I head down the road. Turn on the blinker, no sound. About 5 minutes later, static and some alternator whine, then radio started playing. Did this 2 or 3x that week. Then, I notice no sound out of the rear speakers (crew cab). After a week of research turned up nothing so, I upgraded all the door speakers. Everything kidlnd of reset and started working... for 4 or 5 weeks. Then, started over..in 8 months I have blown three sets of speakers all rear. When it starts freaking out, the static blows the tweeter. My next plan is to upgrade the radio to a Dynavin unit and add backup camera. Has ANYONE had this issue before? Its literally driving me insane...I love music but I cant keep replacing speakers...even though I can do both in about 12 minutes now

Sounds like a radio issue. turn signals are controlled using the radio. They fail from time to time, the wine is the sound of the alternator working and  coming threw the speakers. I would recommend looking into the radio being the issue. GM had many sources for having this radio made, possibly a quality Kenwood or Alpine would be a quality replacement for the factory unit.

Look at crutchfield if needing a replacement.

Dynavin would also work, I did an Eonon and it worked out great. Nice DVR and back up cam.
