Hi all have question about tapping power for radar detector/dash cam from the rear view mirror.  Does anyone know a good place to tap power?  2019 GMC Sierra HD Denali with auto dimming mirror.

I started looking at that option but ended up going with the hardware kit from Uniden, plugging into open fuse panel on the driver's side and just tucking the wire into the headliner.

10 minute job and didn't have to tear anything apart to try and figure out.

Direct Hard Wire Cord for Uniden... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018RBBWWS?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Pop the plastic cover off the camera housing behind the mirror.  There is a harness you can plug a MirrorTap into for switched power.  The connector sits horizontally and you will plug in on the passenger side.  If I remember correctly, the wires are red (+) & black (-), but use a meter to confirm.

Is this (pic below) the mirror connector to tap into for a radar detector? And how do even pull this connector apart? There has to be an easier way… 2022 GMC Sierra.

That's not the connection I used on a 22 Denali.
