2012 chevy silverado dome light

Hope someone can help... The dome light button is out and when I turn it to the right the dome light will come on, also the switch by the dome lights work as well. But they will not come on when the door is open, It will ding when the door is open (key in) and the radio will turn off when you open the door, so I don't think its the door switch....

I know for my truck, the dome lights have two separate power sources, one from the battery for the switch at the light itself, and the other from the bcm for when the doors open & close.  Since the BCM seems be to doing RAP reasonably, it could be just a blown fuse or it could be a wiring problem (or possibly a problem with the bcm, but this is pretty unlikely).  Check all the fuses that they are good.  If they are, then it's testing wiring & connectors, and you'll need a wiring diagram to sort that out.

You lost me with the bmc and rap I have checked the fuses for dome lights and courtesy lights

then I would suggest subscribing to the full-service manual for your truck at a site like alldatadiy.com and then go through the wiring diagrams for the dome light.
