So I just got into a fender bender (butthead ran off no license plate) and I found a 2016 bed that matches my color and before I purchase it, I want to know will it fit on a 2014 Silverado frame without modification or hassle, I have the money from my insurance company to go to a shop but I don’t trust body shops, there’s no frame damage so I’ll just do it my self, Any help with fitment I would appreciate it, thanks

If it is the same model (crew cab short bed as an example), you will have no problems.

the updates to the 16-19 (LD), were the nose and improvements on the electronics.

I have a 14 Silverado 1500 LT double fab short box, 6’6” bed and the “donor” vehicle would be a 16 Silverado 1500 LT double cab 6’6” bed, did the tail lights change at all or anything like that or tailgate mounting that you know of, just making 100% sure that it will be simple 6 or 8 bolts(not sure how many) and some harnesses off and new one on, thanks for the quick reply

Only way you would have a problem is if you had an LTZ bed, it would be set up for LED tail lights (loom would be different for the LED's), otherwise no change through the years you are working with.

You are very welcome for the reply, good luck with your project!

If it was and LTZ bed it would have an LTZ decal on the bedside right by the tail light right?  I know they do that with the Z71 package but The LTZ package is fuzzy to me, not many in my area

Bottom right hand corner of tail gate if you are standing behind truck, just like the LT's.

I would pop out one of your tail lights and look at the plug, to see if it matches the new bed. You will have to remove them at some point to transplant them to the new bed.

If the new bed already has tail lights, the LTZ's look very different inside of the housing, same shape otherwise.
