I have Spintech on my 2001 GMC 8.1/Allison.

I have two 3 in and two 3 out. Sounds good just

a little loud for me when towing 9000lb camper up hills. :D

So does that mean that the link I provided in my first post that the guy has an exhaust that voids his warranty? On his page it says that he has a catback exhaust. It sounds pretty sweet though. Do you get the same kind of sound without modifying the cat?

I haven't heard of any warrenty being hurt by exhaust work.

I guess it would be up to the dealer!!

The term "catback exhaust" does not mean that he modified/replaced his catalytic converters. In actuality it means almost the exact opposite. Everything back from the catalytic converters (muffler, pipes & tips) was replaced. In other words, the only stock exhaust is the cats.

The advantage is that cat back systems normally come with mandrel bent pipe (keeps a true diameter even when the pipe turns), and it is usually more costly. Many peeps will buy standalone mufflers and have their own muffler shop run the pipe, which is usually cheaper. The biggest drawback is MOST muffler shops don't mandrel bend pipe, and when they do it cost big $$.

In regards to an aftermarket system affecting the warranty, many exhaust specialists (Borla, Corsa, etc) are posting verbiage on their websites explaining it is NOT legal for a dealer to void your warranty. Here is a cut copy of Borla's site:

Q. Will it void my factory warranty?

A. No, some cars even have BORLA systems as the OEM exhaust. All of our street exhaust products are 50-state emissions legal. Our headers are 50-state legal and C.A.R.B. approved. In fact, it is illegal for a dealer to deny you the OE warranty because you have changed the exhaust system. For more details, contact SEMA, the trade organization of the automotive aftermarket which has been instrumental in protecting such consumer rights, at www.sema.org, and they can refer you to the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975.

Here is the direct link to where I found the above blurb:

Hope it helps!

PS - By the way, that site you provided with the grey truck is cool. That truck rocks the house!! Thanks for sharing.
