2017 Silverado Shake and Trans Problems...When?

Recommended Posts

Previously owned several GM trucks with no issues.  Considering purchasing a 2017 Silverado 1500 CCSB LTZ 2WD Texas Edition with 12600 miles.  Two test drives in stop and go traffic and freeway speeds to 70 MPH did not reveal any shaking or transmission shift issues.  Question to forum members:  is there a general mileage average when the dreaded "Chevy Shake" or trans issues will become evident if that is going to happen?  Is it safe to assume that if all is well at 12600 miles, then chances are good that the shake and/or bad shifting trans issues will not happen....for many miles :-)   Thanks!

The transmission shudder issue became very prominent in my ‘17 sierra around 12k. Chevy Shake was always there.
