2003 Silverado Being Repaired

My wife and I were involved in an accident Sept 25. These are pictures of the truck being repaired. They are replacing the frame, steering assembly, airbags and many other things. Total estimate to repair is about $16,000.

Right now I am driving a 2003 GMC Sonoma Ext Cab 4x4 rental truck. Luckily the other guy's insurance is taking care of everything...No one was hurt...

Suprised the insurance company paid for the repair and didn't send you a check for full vehicle replacment...

Normaly they don't dish out that kind've cash to repair a vehicle.. Esp one with frame damage...

I dont know about your states insurance laws but in NY, if the total damage sustained is more than 75% of the vehicles value then its considered a total loss. I wouldnt be too thrilled in having them fix it if it were mine, risking too many gremlins and weird noises from that much handling of the vehicle. ----JUST MY 2 cents-----

I agree with all of the above posts...I don't think I want my truck totally ripped apart down to the frame and then put back together again...seems like it will make way too many squeaks and rattles from now on...I am very suprised at the extensiveness of the repair, as I have never seen any body off repair on a truck. The only vehicle I have seen that done on is a Dodge Viper...

Sorry about the loss...
