1982 K5 "bump" steer

My K5 bumps along on slow speed tight turns, both left and right, such as while parking.  When backing up it feels like it's binding up.  When I google "bump steer" I get all kinds of info regarding the bump steer from jacked up suspensions.  This is not the same thing.  This is a bone stock K5 with original sized tires.  Could the four wheel drive be engaged?  Indicator light is not on.

Yeah sounds like the 4x4 is locking up or engaging.
Bump steer is whel ya hit a bump or pot hole and the truck jumps out from under you. That can be fixed with a stabilizer shock.

Can you spin the axle joint by hand on both sides?is there any rust color on any cap seals on those joints?
