Keyless Remote Entry Problems

Experiencing persistent problems with receiver on keyless entry system. Had body control module replaced And replaced fob battery, but still having problems. The remote only works very close to the vehicle and occasionally does not work at all. Is this likely the antenna/receiver unit?  If so, where is it located?
