Radiator / Condenser

Hi I recently took my 2017 Silverado lt 5.3 to a local mechanic to replace a cracked radiator, when I checked the new radiator there’s 2 open ports not being used on the driver side top and bottom radiator it seems like they removed the metal short pipe (14) from condenser going to radiator they bypass going to radiator driver side .

Not sure will this affect anything in the future ? Thank you

Not sure why you described it as a "condenser", as that kind of looks like the transmission cooler lines to me (the condenser is part of the A/C system, and is typically not routed through the radiator).  If this is correct (that it is the transmission cooler), then it should be routed through the radiator, to help warm up the transmission fluid faster.  I would ask the mechanic why he didn't do the job right...

for whatever reason they bypassed the trans cooler which is in ac condenser,i wouldn't have it bypassed, take it back.

Davester thanks so I found this from another gm subscriber ,

Transmission -> Filter base -> External trans cooler (condenser) inlet on the passenger side -> small metal hose that goes from the external cooler into the top of the radiator (driver side) -> out the bottom of the radiator (driver side) -> back to trans. 

Im going to call the mechanic and ask him what’s the reason for him bypassing radiator , on the right side Of radiator there is 2 ports being used plus the big black hoses bare it’s me I’m not a mechanic I usually take my truck to dealer For service but for radiator it was a lot of money but I guess you get what you pay for .
