You may wish to subscribe to the full-service manual for your vehicle to make sure you use the correct torque value and sequence.

 

I have the '04 full-service manual for Sierra trucks, and it says to use threadlock on the bolts, and torque the bolts down in a specific pattern, first to 44 in/lb, then to 89 in/lb.

That was the two step torque spec I was going to use... 44 then 89 in. Lbs.

After doing more of these than I care to remember it's easy... snug them by hand and then do final torque.  For as far the pattern is concerned start in the middle and work your way outward.  44 in/lb is barely above finger tight so it's not really worth doing...
