Spray-In Bed Liner Color Match

Recommended Posts

This is a bit of a stretch, but we are all quarantined, so what the heck... Has anyone had a spray in bed liner color matched to Northsky Blue? If so, do you have a picture?

Any other color matched bed liner pictures would help, too! Just trying to decide between black or Northsky.

I went with black on my last truck and this one. My last truck was a lazer blue Colorado and the line x color match was a purple color. From all the pics I seen online the color match isn’t exact and is either really close or far off like it was on my Colorado.

Ya, this is kind of what I figured. At least it will save some money!

I looked into having a silver one in my 2011. At that time the owner of our local Line-X talked me out of it. 1: it costs more and 2: he said the colors never really look right. After having it sprayed in black I was really happy. Glad he talked me out of it. My Pacific Blue Sierra has a black one as well.

Good to know! I feel like the color would never be matching with Northsky Blue, either. Ill be going with black.

One thing that has been a little shocking to me is, these different shops have such different prices. Bullet Liners start at $365 for one shop and go to $500 at another.. Line-X is more expensive than both (if you want it to not fade over time). I will be going to the Bullet Liner shop for $365.

I only have experience with Line-X. It was definitely worth the extra to get their Premium one. It hardly faded in the 8 years I had it. Friends that had the original one looked terrible with the amount they faded. Of course how much this matters to you will depend on how long you plan to keep the truck..

My 2011 Silverado was color matched. It was a black truck. Sorry... had to...

That is what I had put in the wife's HD. Dealer had it installed, I believe it was around $500.  Looks very much like the factory liner.

I had to go with Line X because the Rhino liner shop in my area no longer exists and the only places that install Bullet are a Ford dealership and a Ram dealership. I opted not to get the UV protection because I have a canopy so I don't think it's likely to fade even if I keep the truck for 15 years. Line X standard was $535 vs $600 CAD for the GM liner.

One thing to consider is color-coordinating instead of color-matching so perfect matching isn't necessary.

A grey/silver/white liner might look good on a blue truck.  Or red for the Superman look.

Black works well for me on my Northsky Blue, but I also have a black tonneau cover and never see it anyway.

Black coordinates with the dark tinted windows and bed rail caps... the truck has plenty of black around to tie it in already.

My 2003 Sierra Denali has color-matched Polo Green (dark) bed rail caps.  The grey bed rug in that one coordinates well.

I got mine done by rhino liners here in Texas it was $475 total 2019 double cab standard bed line x was $7XX something before tax. And we have one bullet installer in the area and I didn’t check with them considering when I had my Colorado they were more expensive then line X and Rhino

    • This is a really late reply but I just found this thread. They won't sell the hinges. I've gone 7 rounds with them. Their solution is to buy a new cover. I'm about to buy a new cover and it won't be a Bakflip. It also won't be from realtruck.com.
    • Yes, and also pulling heavy trailers or a large camper up steep grades as well as descending grades such as the more rustic off road camping locations and using engine braking with that low gearing as well as soft ground can just suck the power . I realize pickups these days tend to have an over all lower first gear ratio compared to automatic transmission pickups from years back so that has helped a lot in its ability in high range but there comes a point if in four wheel drive the torque runs out at the wheels, certainly with a gas engine. They don't put two speed transfer cases on pickups for a cool factor, they have a function if one needs that massive torque to the wheels that high range can't deliver.
    • Notes 7/18/2026   3,400 miles on this batch of Mobil 1 Euro 5W40 since the GDI pump replacement. Alcohol runs very clean when ring seal is tight and the sump isn't getting hosed with fuel. Checked oil level at fill up today as is my practice and grabbed a white Kleenex to look at the color. What color?  I was going to change it but.....
    • 4 low is really nice on steep boat ramps.
    • Interesting, I suspect I would have fueled up in Lee Vining as the day prior I would have filled up either in Laughlin or near there and maybe again before I entered Death Valley and once out the other side late that evening as I kept on driving into the night up near Lee Vining. Next morning I most likely fueled up in LV before heading over Tioga Pass into ( as I refer to it as "Yose .... Mite" 😁 ). And again that was 19 years ago but the price then must not have jumped out at me like the 5 bill a gallon theme of nutty cult hippy country Big Sir or head so far up their rear Aspen. I'd be curious to know where the highest prices are in the lower 48, I probably would not be far off to guess somewhere in Cali forn ie. Coldfoot and Prudhoe bay may have those prices beat but that is a whole other world up there and when prices are more normal elsewhere that is about what they can be up there I believe in no mans land. Anyway interesting that the 395 corridor is hosing people and the thing is, its tourist season and its not like there are a lot of competition options when driving up that highway from what I could see. Yup, big ole Boaterhomes and various other RV's ahead and behind me at the Yosemite entrance gate and they have to get their fuel somewhere.
