Transmission issues

So I have a 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 Z71. I just put in a brand new 4l60e from GM. I also installed a new shifter linkage and a new neutral/park safety switch. I installed the safety switch in neutral as it said. Trans fluid is good and full. I have no reverse and my shift knob on the column is off by one. I can’t rev it in park past like 1700 rpms because it’s acting like it’s under a load trying to move going forward. When the truck is in the drive position on the column and going down the road normally it shift perfectly normal and fine 1st-overdrive. I can’t put it in to first with the knob on the column can only go down to second. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

The shift linkage on the transmission should have some adjustment to it so you can make sure it goes into PRND321.
