I have decided to replace my 2006 GMC motor it was a 5.3 I bought the truck brand new in 2006 and it's been a good truck but the engines been a problem from day one I've had nothing but trouble with the lifters pecking constantly and lack of oil pressure I put up with it up to 173.00 my replacement motor is a ATK from JAG does anybody have any recommendations on what to do going forward I would hope to keep this truck as long as I can especially with this new motor I've decided to put a high-velocity oil pump in it seeing that I tow a boat and a camper and I use it to go hunting in a lot of hunting is off road

Thanks Mike...

Change the oil when you should and that's about it.

A new engine is going to need just about zero maintenance for about the next 75,000-100,000 miles. Coolant, spark plugs etc etc are going to last that long without issue.

Put a 6.0 in while you're at it.  It bolts right in.  Just make sure to get one from the same year so all the sensors are same and the connectors are the same.  If you have AFM, delete it while the engine is out, much easier to do on a stand.
