Help picking a gauge pod.

I have a need for some accessory gauge pods for my Silverado SS. I would consider a dual pod for the a-pillar if someone could suggest one, but I would really like a steering column single pod like this one:

 

It just looks like it will block too much of the factory gauges, especially in the SS, which has the Driver Information Center under the speedo. Is anyone using this or a similar gauge pod that can give me some info on the fit/finish and whether it blocks anything?

If you're going to get one for the A-pillar go for an Auto-meter, thats what I have, fits great, and took paint very nicely.
