Airbox mods

I'm going to change my air filter on my next oil change. I was figuring since I'm on a ladder already I might as well see if I can do anything to the airbox. I'm not going aftermarket CAI , I don't think any of them are worth it IMO.

Can anything be done to the stock airbox that actually works?

BTW I'm using

AC Delco PF63E oil filter

Mobil 1 0w20 Advanced Fuel Economy

Fram Ultra 8755A air filter

These items are always up for debate.??

You could make a better seal with the body, so it gets more air from the fenderwell and less air from the engine compartment (at least, mine can move around a bit, so it doesn't seal well with the fender).

Funny you ask this. I had a MIT intake tube for a few years now. I just discovered the whole side of the air box can be unclipped allowing more air to the filter. It has a nice CIA noise and growl now after removing this. I’ve had intakes on all my previous trucks and it sounds identical now.
