Springs without a cam?

Anything to gain from switching from stock to ls6 springs? Doin a refurbished 862 head swap and wanna throw on new springs just in case. The heads have original springs so idk how many miles are on them. 

Im not doing a cam but thought the ls6 springs might have less of a poundage strain? 

Any downside??

The downside is the valves don't close properly at higher rpm's.  I've heard of people going to stronger springs, but never weaker ones.
