Blank panel where outlet goes - any mods?

So I keep staring at this square blank panel on my dash, wondering what I could do with it. From what I gather, adding an outlet here probably isn't worth the trouble. Has anyone done anything with this, or seen anything clever done?

 

Also, does anyone know what the actual name of this little square panel is?

It's great. It says it's 6', but it comfortably only stretches about 3'. But I like that it plugs in at a right angle, and the coil keeps it neat.

I like the idea of a Boost Gauge but it is way too low.

That needs to be in the A Pillar or on top of the dash....

 

You could mount your Nitrous Arm and Purge Switches there.

Tie the solenoid into your GO-Pedal TPS.

 

More mundane ideas:

Bass Knob

Auxiliary Lights

Air Pressure Gauge for the Air Bags or Tank (could also be for helper bags)
