2018 Silverado - Turn Signal / Brake Light Separate SIgnals

Recommended Posts

Currently installing under tailgate lighting on my 2018 LTZ Silverado. Everything has been wired correctly according to the light manufacturer (Plasmaglow).  However, since GM trucks use the same bulb for the rear brake lights AND rear turn signals, I am unable to get my turn signals to work properly when I apply the brakes.  The turn signals work fine when the brakes are not applied. If the turn signals are on, and I apply the brakes, the turn signals stop lighting up and only the brake light works.  Very frustrating

Does anyone have  any idea on how to tie into a separate turn signal wire which will not have the brake signal buried in with it?

Welcome to the site.

Like your choice of trucks!

Have you reached to Plasmaglow for help with their product?

Yes... They sent me a wiring converter harness.  Installed properly but same issue.  Just not separating the two signals. I resent that info to them. Waiting on their next steps. I will post if their feedback solves the issue.

Love my truck as well!
