I don't save gas reciepts. Why would you do that? Besides, with the mileage that I get, I'd need a trailer to carry them.

I do save any and all reciepts pertaining to any service that's performed.

I needed all my oil change reciepts when my motor went south. The service manager looked at them and said that iyt was a good thing I'd saved them. My warranty might have been voided without them.

Seeing as how the truck gets filled out of the farm tank, you could take saving the receipts in one of two ways.  Of course the reciept for when the big tanks are filled we save the receipt as it is a farm expense (about $900 each time the fuel truck stops), but no to each time the truck is filled up.  The truck, my car at times, as well as my 630, lawn mower, ect.  fill up out of the tank, so how much each one takes, we dont' know.  Truck oil changes and stuff like that get saved as well since they are considered farm expenses as well.  I can't imagine why anyone that fills up at the pump for just general transportation saves the reciepts, why?

900 dollars for filling a big tank ? How big are your storage tanks? That seems quite small for a farm. On ours we have 3 seperate ones at the shop (14,000 high sulfur tank , 8,000 low sulfur tank and a 10,000 gasoline tank)and 2 at our mint still (10,000 high sulfur and a 6,000 low sulfur). I was just thinking geez either this guy has some small tanks or he is getting a #### of a price.

I just save the receipts for any repair work done on the vehicle.  Nothing as much as gas receipts! :(

Yep I save all of my gas recipts too, then I save all of my Chevron card statements.  I even have a log book I fill out ever time I fill up with gas or get any service done.  So I have every gas fill up on recipts and on paper, and I know all of my milages.  I also keep all of my other recipts no matter what.  I got years worth of stuff I think.  So no, your not the only crazy on Ryan.   :(  :(

Yup, save all my gas receipts, and oil receipts.

Also ask the car wash attendant for a receipt when i wash the truck, or save the Water Bill statement for when i wash it at home.

Saved all my Meguires bills, and the candy bar i bought yesterday too.

Are you friggin crazy!!!!!!!!!   :(

They can be used as a tax write off if you have a business.

I save reciepts for only important things.  (Like my trucks battery, alt., and repair work)  Also other misc. things like my sub's, speakers, and cd player.

I save receipts for all parts/accessories/work performed by dealer or shop.  The only time I save gas receipts is when I use my check card to get gas, then I give the receipt to my wife so she can deduct it from our checking account.  :(

I do record my mileage, hours, and amount of fuel and cost in a book I carry in my truck ever so often I put it on the computer and let if figure my hours and MPG.  Also save my other reciepts that I get with oil changes and other repair work, if I ever need any.

:(  :(  :( I dont save oil receipts or anything, what good does that do???? I mean you can print up some fake receipts with a fake date, so it doesnt seem like a dealer would take them into consideration that much, I am glad mine dont ask for reciepts whenver something tears up! Do you save your belt dressing receipt in case your belt brakes, or save your Fuel injector cleaner reciept in case you have to take your truck in for a clogged injector, and if you have a K&N how do you document you cleaned it, other than just writing it down!!!    :D  :D

We have a 500 gasoline tank and a 500 gallon offroad diesel tank.  Its about the right size for us, large enough to get used in a timely fashion between the times it has to be filled, yet small enough that we aren't losing much fuel through evaporation when its just sitting there.  Most farms around here have either 250, 500, or 1000 gallon bulk tanks sitting there.

I dont even know why we got the low sulfur tank at the still for it has been empty for years. But we go through all that fuel in the 10k high at the still real fast when we are running mint we burn up that whole tank in about a week and it stays empty unless we are cooking mint we ussually get it filled about a week before we start running. But at the shop the high sulfur off-road tank ussually has to be filled 3 times a year the gas about 4 times and the low about 3 so it sits there maybe at the most 4 months dont know how much we lose off evaporation.

I save some for major repairs....

Other than that, anything that I put on my credit card I save the receipt for a few months, and gas receipts I save for 1 month (till the clear the statement)
