2020 2500HD Duramax crackling on idle

Hello everyone,

I purchased my first diesel 3 weeks now, noticed at idling theres a crackling sound coming from the bottom of the truck (exhaust area). Is this normal? Do you  guys with diesels have the same noise? It only does it when idling. Thanks

Does it do this when heating up, or all the time?  it might just me the sound of metal expanding as it heats up...

I would bet it is just the heat shields and/or exhaust components expanding then. Shouldn't be anything to worry about.
