I think it was a good deal.  Mechanically perfect except for a bad ABS module and a missing Mode Actuator motor in the HVAC system.  No piston slap @ this mileage, so probably never will.  According to Edmunds, I paid $250 over Trade-in value, but more than $1300 below Private Party Price.

I was originally going to buy a 93-95, but couldn't find one for below Dealer Retail and almost all were ~$8k with over 150k miles, some with over 200k miles (ouch).  I paid 50% more for my '99, but sometimes it's not how little you pay, but how sweet the deal is.

on the truck i think i did.

14,500 when my dad bought it, then decided he wanted to find a short bed K2500 8 lug. so i get it for 12,000. at the time it had under 100k miles. not anymore.

on my car i feel i paid a little too much. but i love the car. plus the limiteds are rare, little over a 1000 made i believe in 87. so maybe in the future when more and more people learn the power of the Limited Turbo-T it'll be worth what i paid or more. i can at least dream.

2001 Chevy Silverado LS ext. cab 4x4 Z71 5.3L

Purchase on 2001/07/31, with only 34 miles on the odometer.

List Price: 32,813

Price Paid: 28,882 (paid in full on purchase date)

Pretty good deal for out here.  Of course it then cost me over 600 (about 90% of which are taxes) dollars to register the thing, which sucks.  Can't wait till renewal time in July, there goes another 300+ dollars.    ???
