So I got a 2018 Silverado 5.3 with a misfire. Opened it up to check lifters since for sure one of them must be collapsed. Ended up being one of cylinder 4s and it took out the cam as well. So I went ahead and the lifter, cam and the vlom. After closing it and turning it on the car did the same thing again! Found out it was rotating on the lifter guide since the last lifter had messed it up! So I close again the truck starts put fine with no misfire until I drove it for a couple minutes and it misfires again! Check and it was still cylinder 4! Does anyone know why this could be happening?

I'm confused, did you change the plastic tray that holds the lifter to keep it from rotating?

Yes, the collapsed lifter had messed up the guides that the lifter grabs on too. Once I found out that if the lifter moves while cranking but stops after turning on was due to the lifter rotating, i opened it and it sure was. And like I said the truck turned on fine until 5 minutes into driving it.
