Cold Air Intake

This may have already been asked or discussed somewhere but I'm new here and can't find it. Has anyone heard of having trans issues after installing a CAI? I have a 2014 Sierra with the 6.2 and have had a couple mechanics say they heard of people having issues after the CAI install due to the mass air flow sensor controlling line pressure for the trans... Anyone experienced or heard about this? Thanks

A sensor that read incorrectly can change how the engine runs and shifts.

 

A cold air intake by itself won't cause that issue. All the bolt on kits don't require any other changes because if they did, they wouldn't sell half as many as they do.

 

I've seen people damage the sensor or overload their air filter with oil, which can lead to that oil getting on the MAF.
