AndoverClone
Considering the purchase of a 2020 Sierra AT4 with the included multi pro tailgate. Would appreciate any experiences from any of you with the winter salt and grime affecting functionality. Does it have to stay clean in all of the folds and crevices to avoid rusting like the infamous rocker panels from the early generations of GM trucks? thanks much. Jay P
I have been through 1 winter here in Colorado and no issues. Colorado uses both salt and mag-cloride on the roads along with sand. Jay
Back in Black AT4
I wouldn't expect an issue as it is pretty high up, but as an additional protective measure I would fold down and wax the inner painted portions and put lithium grease on the hinges. I'm more worried about the truck frame rusting out than modern galvanized body panels.
OnTheReel
It’s aluminum anyway...
f8l vnm
The tailgate has been out what 1-1/12 years? Way too little time to tell the longevity. But I suspect GM went to great lengths on this tailgate. Given their commercials and all , I think it should be solid.
