Recommended Posts

16 SLT 4X4 77K miles

Replaced the battery this morning.

Hardest part was removal of the battery.

Install was a piece of cake [emoji512].

Here's a few pics.

10mm

14mm sockets.

Battery cost $157.00 out the door.3fb6c4fe5d76d88e2614caea0b3dc61f.jpgcfee7cd342b54852f5c49585e3cc74bc.jpg93b1587a8d248f03a26cdb545f74335c.jpg0b27805295d1478610df5d35c843f7f7.jpg63b7588e0ff38b508c2056043873c5f1.jpg1c0f7d3f767ebaef5f961208e8721d74.jpgfaa7a79ed510136a45b9be538f8795cc.jpgc4a92c1245e87ace7c3f8bdf4de35f30.jpg6720770934fa00039eabc29e278a6498.jpg

Had to replace mine yesterday actually.  Got the same exact battery you did from Autozone.

I could tell it was going because the truck was cranking slower and slower the last few weeks. Finally died yesterday.

2017 5.3L with only 23k miles.  I think the Houston heat helped doing it in.

Houston heat probably didn't help, but I am going to say that the batteries are engineered to last just long enough to get out of the warranty window. My dad bought a brand new 88 F150. The battery in that truck lasted until after he passed away in 98. My son and I finally replaced the battery some years later. I dare say that battery lasted 12 years.

You'll be hard pressed to get 5 years out of any battery now. I am on my 2nd battery in my 2014.
