Fergit about Duramax!

I have overhauled a lot of 14L Cummins NTC engines, and it never took three people, and a crane to put the main bearing inserts in!

If you look at my avatar that is an SD70MAC, which is built by EMD, a division of General Motors. Betcha didn't know that the people that built your pick-up also build 3 out of 4 locomotives running the rails? Any way the 70MAC has an EMD 16-710 diesel. That means 16 cylinders at 710 cubic inches apiece, with a max RPM of 950 and 4000 horsepower. This is by no means the most powerful locomotive either. But I guess if you are dragging 14,000 tons of coal you wouldn't want a Toyoder 22RE.

While this engine pales in comparison to the one BlackSilver listed, they are still monsters in my book. A 16-710 engine block (stripped) weighs in at 20,000lbs

forget about fuel mileage at 1660 gallons an hour .

thats about as much as i use a year in the 97

Thats the amount of oil it burns since it is a 2 stroke.

I knew that, but I'd prefer an SD90MAC.
