I know my code is AP3 I have 08 Chevy Suburban, the person lost the fobs with the remote start on them. The question is he give me  remotes without remote start, could I buy remotes with the remote start on it and program them myself or do I need them to be reprogram by a locksmith?

Doesn't have to be a locksmith - anyone with a high end scan tool should be able to do that.

 

That is, IF the vehicle actually has the remote start correctly flashed in the BCM. I've seen reflashes go wrong when the tech forgets to check one or more boxes in the option list - if remote start wasn't checked, it'll never work no matter what you do, unless the BCM is reflashed again with the correct info entered.
