Has anyone installed in-channel window visors and had trouble with the window express up action reaching the top and immediately reopening? I'm assuming it's reacting as if there is an obstruction and immediately reversing. It works OK if I keep my finger on the button, it only happens when I do the one touch express up. It's kind of weird. You would think it would also happen when keeping my finger on the button.

Is there a cure for this? I tried the window reset procedure and I thought it cured it, but the next day it happened again and ever since. I wish I would have known this, I would have bought the other type. The ones I got were from AVS, if that matters.

It seems to happen at random on mine.  I have the same ones.  No solution that I've found other than not leaving your windows down.  It seem to happen more when I leave the window down, probably due to the heat expanding the plastic and registering as an obstruction for the auto up sensor.

I have the in-channel visors and have never had any issues with the auto-up functions. Make sure they're fulling seated and pressed against the outside portion of the inner track. If they're not seated flush then they will clip the window a little going up causing the auto-up to stop and go back down. When I put mine on, I left my windows up for awhile without lowering them and waited for a really hot day for them to cure nicely to the inside of the track.

There is a procedure written for the Techs to reset the window motor resistance when they install in-channel visors.  I don't have access to the instructions so I'm going from memory but it's something like this:

  1. Open window the entire way.
  2. Close window the entire way and KEEP HOLDING UP ON THE BUTTON for 5-10 seconds.
  3. Open window the entire way and KEEP HOLDING DOWN ON THE BUTTON for 5-10 seconds.
  4. Close window the entire way and KEEP HOLDING UP ON THE BUTTON for 30 seconds.
  5. Leave the window closed (and in the sun if possible) for 24-48 hours so the visor can mold to the channel.

I'm not sure that is exact but it's pretty close.  I have had the same visors installed for over 5 years without any problems.

Thank you! I will try that tomorrow and report back! I did do a "reset", but there weren't as many steps as that. Hope that works. Thanks again!

Oh, I did follow the instructions that came with the visors to keep the windows closed for 72 hours. It was Summertime, so I think that was good.
