Question
brandon zirbel
I'm trying to install the new Transfer case motor onto my truck. The new motor didn't come with the bushing for the top bolt to help line things up, but I'm told that you really don't need it. I can't seem to get the new motor to pop onto the shaft of the Transfer case itself, I've tried manually moving the shaft in a few different spots, eyeballed it as best I could to what looks like to be the exact position for it to slip into place, but it just won't go. The new motor is set to 2hi, and the truck was in 2hi when I took the old one off. Which one would think it should just pop right back on. What are the positions on the transfer case shaft for 2hi, neutral, and 4hi? I'm pretty sure neutral is straight down. Any advice on which position is which spot would be great. Or any tips to get the new motor to line up and pop into place would be greatly appreciated.
