Clicky accelerator pedal??

Have a 2018 Sierra and the accelerator pedal is clicky and feels sloppy,  Its not the 3/4 throttle detent pause that folks talk about, but is clicky at the initial stage when touching the pedal or letting off the gas.  Does anyone else have this on their truck?  Is this normal?

I haven't had this issue but a lot of other people have wedged a shim behind the pedal to fix it.
