1999 Suburban 4 Wheel Drive Engaged by itself

My 1999 k1500 slt suburban has decided that when I start it up to automatically go into 4 Wheel drive in its own. It has the dash push button 4 Wheel drive selector. Also, sometimes it will be fine and I put it in park and it will just switch into 4 Wheel drive. Seems to be completely random with no set pattern but it has gotten so regular and unpredictable in doing it that I had to crawl underneath and actually disconnect the 2 wires on the actuator to ensure it stays in 2 wheel drive all of the time. Any ideas, answers or suggestions?
