Got in my truck yesterday and there was no power.  Checked batter cables to see if they were loose, and they were pipping hot.  Even after sitting for several hours, the positive cable was extremely hot.  I disconnected the cables, but I have no idea what could have caused this or what to do.  Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Start checking for a short... do have trailer wiring or connector tangled up somewhere?

That is interesting that you would say that as I randomly get the "service trailer brake" notification that flashes over and over again, then goes away.  There used to be wiring hanging down above my exhaust pipe, that a machinic "fixed" for me.  I'll take a look at it.  If that is the issue, is it a manner of replacing the wire?  Do you think this could have now caused other issues?  THanks for your help
