Folks- On my new to me 2018 Silverado LTZ which came with factory running boards, I found today after some freezing rain that the running boards are extremely slippery, more so than the aftermarket ones I have had in the past on previous trucks. Have any of you noticed this as well? Any solutions you can think of short of pulling these off and going with another brand? This truck came from the factory with 20 inch tires/rims so I definitely need the running boards to help get in and out.

  Ok well I guess Lake disagrees with me on a few points. I call oil consumption pretty basic. Rudimentary. He calls it "really complicated." I think 1qt consumed in 3k miles is a lot. He says that's normal. In 22 minutes, he'll use his natural talent to explain oil consumption to anyone watching this video. He covers everything from obvious engine damage to how normally functioning healthy engines consume oil by design. Lake explicitly states how you drive will impact oil consumption. Shut up and watch:

  Check for broken bolts holding the exhaust manifolds to the heads, common problem. Dorman makes a repair piece if you find you have broken 1s and don't want to do the surgery to replace them

  My dealer says it's the 6.6 from the HD modified for the 1500's. So, my money's on the 6.7.
