Neutral WITHOUT starting engine.

Anyone know how to get the shifter out of park and into neutral without starting engine in these push button start trucks if such an issue as a dead battery or  other failure (oil cooler line) thats prevents engine start?? My wife's Dodge has a mechanical way to do it, but does G.M.??

Don't put your foot on the brake and hold the start button down for a couple seconds. It should go into the "key on" like you would with a regular key and let you put the shifter into neutral.

 

If the battery is completely dead you might be looking at a different route. The way above would let you get it out of park if the battery was still alive and you just needed to move the shifter or wanted access to the cluster/radio/HVAC without the engine on.
