CP4 Fail, how many out there?

Looking for options and actual owners that have fallen victim to this. I keep hearing about CP4 catastrophic failures, and have yet to meet someone on a forum that has had the $9K+ bill (always been a friend of a friend). 
 

My 2016 is factory(ish) with a Banks CAI, FASS LP, CAT 2 micron filter upgrade, BD water separator. I use a fuel additive every fill up and the truck has 56k miles The majority of them are towing 9K or more. 
 

Now that there’s CP3 conversions that keeps my truck in emissions compliance, this is tempting. However, the CP3 isn’t bulletproof either. I had one fail on my CR 5.9L Cummins before 80k miles. 
 

I was looking at the Industrial Injection CP3 kit for around 1750.00. Any other recommendations?
