So my truck has always had a harsh shift 1-2 and 2-3 in the morning until trans temp is around 120-150 then shift smooth. I was alway told it’s the programming holding shifts longer to warm it up but I was in a friends 2014 Silverado and his is smooth shifting all the time even on cold starts and his doesn’t hunt Around for gears.

If I manually shift mine it is seamless and smooth. I was also told try changing fluid which I did a week ago which did make it smoother but now is back to harsh shifting. I know it has to be a programming issue and not mechanical since it is seamless when manually shifting. Anyone had luck with any TSB to reprogram the computer?

If you know someone with a fancy scan tool or HP Tuners you could try and reset the adaptive learning on the transmission.
