No heat when very DMAX

No heat when very cold or it take s a long time to get heat put the cover on the front but still very slow,

any thoughts

How long does it take under normal driving?

It takes mine 10-15 minutes to get warm in the cab...mostly because it takes my DMAX that long to get into the normal temp range.

The Duramax does take longer to come to operating temperature. 10-15 mins sounds about right. If you have the automatic climate control, it won't put air out until it is warmed up. (When the air request requires heat)

I plug all my diesels in overnight during winter. They start easy anyway, but I get warm air in just a minute

You can wire in a "fast idle" that will raise your engine rpms while it's warming up in the morning. It is then actuated by the cruise controls. Cheap and easy to do.
