Squeak coming from driver door pillar??

Recommended Posts

Has anyone else noticed a squeaking sound coming from the door pillar on the driver side right near the seat belt bracket? It happens when I drive over sharp bumps like rail crossing or rough road surfaces. It sounds like plastic/metal or rubber/metal. I’m gonna try and find the problem myself in a few days and take the trim off before I go to a dealer. It’s super annoying; and I only seems to happen after the truck is warmed up. Anybody have this and solve it????

I have a squeak in that region which seems to be the driverside vertical door trim piece against the aft driverside window glass rubber gasket.  Trim piece feels loose when the door is open, I havent decided if its worth trying to tighten.

Ive had my 2019 trail boss for over a year and had that annoying squeak and it only happened when it was really hot weather. I took it for its first service in fall of last year and of course we couldn't hear the noise. What I did was buy some spray lithium grease and put it in all the door strikers and that seems to have fixed it, I didn't notice the noise this summer.

For me the noise will come and go. When it comes it stays for a trip or two then leaves. I’ll try that along with felting some of the trim pieces inside the door pillar and see if it stays gone. For me the truck has to be warm for the noise to show up it seems.
