I'm not a big fan of Toby Keith, but his new single is just plain awesome in times like these.

"Courtesy of the red, white, and blue" download it and listen, I bet you'll like it.  Tells Osama where to shove it.

JP that song has been played here for a long time (US99 in chicago).  Its a great song.  Only downloadable version are the radio ones and they are crappy quality.  Should be out on cd soon

This ranks right up there with brooks and dunn only in america

Only been on the radio here for about 4-5 days now.  The station I listen to most of the time is usually the first to pick up cool new songs, but I guess they missed the boat this time.

As for Only in America, its starting to suffer the same fate as "Where were you...", been way overplayed to the point I switch stations when it comes on.

When have I been ashamed at all of liking country?

I hate to sound un-patriotic, but Just about Everybody has done that, so that's gotten kinda old. It's nothing special.

And I have not listened to a full song of Toby Keith's without turning it off.

Oh well. As long as he's done talking about HIM, and asking how do you like HIM now, it might not be so bad.

I'm not a big fan of Toby Keith and I think his new song is a late attempt to follow in the patriotic steps made by folks like Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, and Aaron Tippin.  As for the Brad Paisley song, "I'm Gonna Miss Her", I like it every time I hear it...it was good to hear Brad sing a fun song rather than the slow-lovey songs such as "We Danced" or "The Dad He Didn't Have To Be".  What does everyone think of Kenny Chesney's new song "The Good Stuff"?  Ugh!  I don't like it, i'm still stuck on his other song "Young".

That song is awesome!  He made an awesome performance of it on the Academy Of Country Awards on 5/23.

Here are the lyrics for those that haven't heard it:

Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (Angry American)

American girls and American guys

Will always stand up and salute

Will always recognize

When we see Old Glory flying

There's a lot of men dead

So we can sleep in peace at night

When we lay down our head

My Daddy served in the army

Where he lost his right eye

But he flew a flag out in our yard

Till the day that he died

He wanted my Mother, my Brother,

My Sister and me

To grow up and live happy

In the land of the free

Now this nation that I love

Is falling under attack

A mighty sucker punch came flying in

From somewhere in the back

As soon as we could see clearly

Through our big black eye

Man we lit up your world

Like the Fourth of July

Chorus:

Hey, Uncle Sam put your name

At the top of his list

And the Statue of Liberty

Started shaking her fist

And the eagle will fly

And it's going to be H.E.L.L

When you hear Mother Freedom

Start ringing her bell

And it will feel like the whole wide world

Is raining down on you

Brought to you courtesy

Of the Red, White and Blue

Oh, justice will be served

And the battle will rage

This big dog will fight

When you rattle his cage

You'll be sorry that you messed

With the U.S. of A.

Cause we'll put a boot in your a$$

That's the American way

CHORUS

Of the Red, White and Blue

Of my Red, White and Blue

___

I also like "I'm Gonna Miss Her"!  My wife rolls her eyes everytime I start singing along w/it!  hehe  :(

They do play it too much though..

Country singer Toby Keith has been dumped from ABC Television's 4th of July special and he's hopping mad about it.

Toby was booked to sing his hit song "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American)" on the live "Voice Across America" show on the network.

Toby was shocked when he received a call from the show's producer telling him that the show's host, news anchor Peter Jennings, objected to the song's lyrics and had him dropped.

Keith wants to know why Jennings, a Canadian, could get Toby kicked off the show without regard to the song's popularity.

Please E-mail your concerns to ABC:

My e-mail to ABC...

I watched the CMA awards recently, and this song was the brightest point in it.  I think it puts into words the way that every patriotic American feels, present company included.  I believe that until we make it unimaginable for a terrorist to commit an act of war on our nation, we will continue to be victimized.  I do not believe it is wrong to take pride, as this song portrays, in exacting punishment for wrongs committed against us.
