Radio screen issues

Hey y’all,

I have a 2016 Silverado and the 8 in io6 screen is resetting about every 20 seconds amd showing the “warning- eyes on road” screen.  The music stays playing or slightly stops and starts.  I have tried and replaced the fuse, tried unplugging the hmi blue cord, tightening and retightening the battery terminals, new battery, even took the face off of the radio to reset the wire and still no such luck as to why it’s constantly going black.  My last resort is a dealer to try and squeeze as much as possible out of me and tell me “you need a whole new radio”.  I’ve searched numerous forums and videos and whatnot and some of your posts are the closest thing to what I am experiencing.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Also, the USB ports fail to work once the radio fully shuts off and goes black after about 10-15 minutes driving.

Try this for a reboot:

 

General Motors

For Cadillac, Chevrolet, Buick, GMC vehicles

Mylink/Intellilink (2014-2016)
• Press the Home and Fast Forward buttons for at least 10 seconds

GM infotainment (2017-2019)
• Press the Onstar call button, then hang up.

Did you ever figure out what was going on with your radio? My 2016 GMC Yukon is doing the exact same thing.
