2020 3500 cab chassis

I just bought model left over 2020 3500 crew cab wt cab chassis Duramax and put a pickup box on it, the problem is the power tailgate latch is not working does the truck need to be programmed for the tailgate?

You technically bought a box delete (zw9) package.  Do you know if the wiring exists?

The plug was at the back and I plugged the tailgate harness in, the rear camera and light work just the release button doesn’t
