Black Door Handles

I've got a black High Country with chrome door handles (front and rear both have the push button lock/unlock functionality).

 

What is the best route to black these out?

 

1) Buy new paint to match door handles? Seems expensive since it looks like you have to buy the whole handle assembly?

 

2) Remove existing handles, sand, paint to match?

 

3) Wrap them?

 

4) Something else?

I am looking for the same exact thing. Did you find a solution to this? I want black door handles on my black LTZ, i hate chrome.

I just replaced the stock black handles on mine with color matched this weekend.  You can actually remove the handles and take the covers off the handles if you want to take them off and have them color matched.  Unfortunately you can't order just the replacement covers, you have to purchase entire handle assemblies.  They make aftermarket stick on covers, but not sure how well they would hold up.  I considered them at first, but was hesitant not knowing how well they would actually fit and stay on, so went ahead and spent the extra money to order oem replacements and have painted.  Hope that helps.
