i just bought a new silverado and looking at this site i seen the rpo list so i got the codes out of my glovebox and looked them up, now i have some questions,

first i have the g80 code which the rp0 list says i have posi trac? i cant feel posi kicking in on the truck and im spinning on ice steady, should i not be able to tell its there?, also i got the z85 code for extra weight capabilities? is this the traliler package? and what all does it include. the last thing im curious too is there were some codes on my list in the glove box that wernt in the rpo guide on this site? any way i can find what they are?

the G80 is the locking rear it will lock when there is wheel spin to a degree I've pulled at in loose gravel and it did'nt feel like it locked but then spinning on ice I could feel the rear locking and the backend would jump from side to side.

the Z85 is the trailering suspension. These shocks have a the same load capabilities of the smooth ride Z83 suspension, but include internal tranny and oil coolers. The Z85 also includes wider aspect tire ratios for increased load capacities. The full trailering package includes external tranny cooler, hitch, high capacity air cleaner and wiring and is RPO Z82.

All the important RPO should be listed most of the others are probably checks and minor production elements.

thanks for the answers, i'll try to pay more attention to see if both wheels spin or not, so from what i gather the z85 is heavier springs and thats about it? and the g80 i s the locking diff

I don't know that the Z85 is heavier springs, but I do know it is heavier shocks. The Z85 suspension is the min. that GM will recommend for the towing package. It splits the middle between the Z71 and the stock Silverado.

A Standard Silverado with the towing package will have the Z85 suspension.
